I hoped for a white Christmas this year, but that didn't pan out. But a few days later, we were graced with some snow.
If your home is anything like mine, Snow Day means Play Day.
I took my black standard schnauzers to the park; they love playing in the snow. Cisco was zooming around, having a blast, while Tito bounced around like a ball, holding on his favourite toy.
As a pet photographer, I love documenting dogs having fun in the snow.
I never put my camera down in my photo sessions, so when your dog is having a break playing around, I am capturing candid, playful moments.
I find that candid moments highlight the dog's personality. I love showcasing dogs' joyful moments; most dogs are playful in the snow.
Here are my two reasons why I love Winter Photoshoot
Picturesque - I am blessed that where I live, I have all four seasons, but winter offers a beautiful picturesque feeling to dog photography. It creates a serene backdrop, perfect for capturing your dog's joyful expressions.
Artwork - Dog portraits taken in the snow can create stunning artwork for your walls, a gorgeous storyboard that tells the story of your dog in a beautiful way or a floatmount to preserve your pet's and family's memories.

“Sharon was the most friendly, kind hearted, professional, easy going photographer to work with. She is beyond talented and captured the most beautiful photos and memories of my family and our new puppy! Would highly recommend her to anyone wanting to do a photo session with their family and/or fur babies! She was super responsive and we received our photos in a very timely manner. She was great with my young kids and amazing with our puppy who were more than happy to cooperate and put their best smiles forward for her during the photoshoot! 10 stars!"
Huzzah for a snow day! It looks like you captured the joy and fun that your dogs had in the freshly fallen snow. I agree that pet photography sessions in the snow are rather stunning.
Your clients are so lucky to have the opportunity to have pictures of their dogs in the snow to turn into gorgeous wall art for their homes!
LOVE seeing Tito in the snow – so much fun! I 100% agree with your reasons for loving winter dog photo shoots. That family photo is precious – the love and joy.
Enjoy!
Totally agree that snow makes for beautiful portraits of dogs (and families) in the snow. Love that family portrait!
I’m so jealous of your snow and that you offer pet photography that can include snow pictures. We always just get rain where I live in North Carolina. Your pictures of dogs in the snow capture how much fun they were having.
