Meet Your Family & Pet Photographer

beach family and pet photography in Norfolk County

Sharon is a dog mom to two gorgeous boys, Cisco and Tito, and it is that love,  the kind that is unconditional, joyful, and a little bit wild,  that sits at the very heart of everything she creates at Canovas Photography.

Before she ever picked up a camera, Sharon spent twenty years working in the world of professional stunts. It was a career that taught her grit, steadied her hands, and taught her how to find the perfect moment in the middle of pure chaos. Those skills never left her. They simply found a new home, one that trades action sets for wagging tails and genuine, unscripted connection.

Sharon believes that the bond between a family and their pet is one of life's most beautiful stories, and she considers it a privilege to be the one who tells it. Every session is thoughtfully crafted to feel relaxed and true to who you are, so that what lives in the final artwork is not just a photograph, but a feeling.

Her dedication to her craft goes beyond the camera. Sharon is a proud member of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) and holds a specialized canine accreditation, a recognition of the depth of knowledge and care she brings to every session. She is also committed to ongoing education in the art of editing, ensuring that every image delivered to her clients is refined, timeless, and extraordinary.

Sharon is also a certified pet loss grief specialist. For families navigating the tender final chapter with their beloved companion, she offers end-of-life photography sessions handled with the utmost empathy, dignity, and love — preserving those last precious moments so they are never truly lost.

At Canovas Photography, you are not simply booking a session. You are trusting someone who loves animals the way you do, who understands what they mean to your family, and who will pour that understanding into every single image.

Meet The Team

Cisco

known as the boss dog

Such A Smart Boy!

He loves agility, obedience training and cheese. Cisco helped her tremendously when her dad died.

Unfortunately, she went into depression, and Cisco was there for her and wouldn’t leave her side. Sharon found the strength to keep going through Cisco's obedience training.

He has such a kind soul!

Tito

Know as action star

Full Of Energy!

From the moment he wakes up, he doesn’t stop. Tito is full of energy and grateful for everything. He knows how to spell quite a few words, such as "cookies", "treats", "hike", and many others, so we definitely talk in code near him.

Tito was named after a dear friend's dog, a stuntman. Clay loved his dog Tito so much. The day my Tito was born, Clay unfortunately passed away. Tito is truly fearless, like Clay.

George

known as the DINOSAUR

Living His Best Life.

George came into the family as a rescue, found by Sharon's brother Charles. When he first arrived, he was not doing well, but the family gave him every bit of love and care he needed, and he held on.

He spent a good part of his life in Toronto, where he enjoyed peaceful walks in the park. These days, George lives with Sharon and spends his summers lounging in the backyard without a care in the world.

He came in as a rescue and stayed as royalty.

Lucy

Know as our little princess

Small But Mighty.

Lucy is Sharon's mother's Morkie, and she came into the family after the passing of Sharon's father, a tiny girl with the biggest heart, arriving exactly when she was needed most.

She loves her zoomies, has a gift for destroying toys, and has decided that Tito is her favourite. She is sassy, talkative, and endlessly entertaining.

Lucy may be little, but she fills every room she walks into.

A little bit more about this crazy dog mom...

  • She loves listening to Elvis Presley or Eminem while editing work.
  • Her favourite show is Shark Tank.
  • Reading is one of her favourite things to do. There's nothing like a good dog story book or a Tony Robbins read.
  • She's committed to helping dogs in need.
  • She loves to exercise.
  • She enjoys baking treats for Cisco & Tito.
  • She loves a good cup of coffee in the morning and sparkling water in the afternoon.
  • She's been a professional stunt woman for over 17 years. You might have seen her on shows such as Arrow, Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, Chucky and Pet Sematary, to name a few.

What Clients Are Saying...

"Words cannot describe just how talented, kind, and authentic Sharon is in what she does. She is patient and loves and the work that she does. The hardest part will be picking which shot is your favourite because you’ll love them all.
I can’t wait to work with her again. And have not stopped recommending her to everyone I know. Capture those memories - you won’t regret it!"
