During the summer, my client surprised her expecting childhood friend with a thoughtful gift - a pet and family photography session. She surprised her and her husband with my Love Bug Package. This dog family photoshoot featured three adorable dogs, in a senior pup.
This family and pet photography session took place in Gairloch Gardens in Oakville, Ontario, at one of my favourite parks for family portraits with pets.
During Our Consultation
During our consultation, I discussed with Alexandra
- What kind of pet family photos she wanted
- The time we were meeting,
- If her dogs have any allergies to anything
- What backdrop was she looking for in her family dog photoshoot?
I told her about each location I love for family pet pictures and sent her a location guide by email, and she just adored the beauty of Gairloch Gardens.
Gairloch Gardens has great little spots with beautiful backdrops of water and flowers, making your family portraits with dogs just stunning.

During Our Photoshoot
Ashley, my client who generously gifted the pet and family photography session, arrived ready to assist in handling the three adorable pups.
I started the pet photography session by photographing the dog's individual first; I wanted to get a feel for the dog's personality first.
We strolled through the park, and whenever I found a charming spot, I captured the beautiful couple, the three dogs together and separately, and, of course, the entire family in those picturesque settings. After all, dogs are part of the family.
Getting The Dog's Attention
I had lots of healthy, smelly treats, noises and toys to get their attention.
As a pet photographer, I have also learned to make my own noises. I don't mind sounding silly anymore in my sessions.
This session was so much fun. The gallery was delivered two weeks after the photoshoot session, and Alexandra and her husband were happy to see them.
They chose which photos were going in the wall art, and weeks later, I drove to their home to deliver their beautiful artwork. I even got to meet Jack, the new family member.
It was an honour to preserve these memories for Alexandra and her husband, and I can't thank Ashley enough for gifting her friend one of my pet photography packages. What a thoughtful gift.
