Family And Pet Beach Photoshoot
Nicole's husband reached out to me on Instagram, wanting to plan a family and pet photoshoot for Mother's Day. He wanted it to be a surprise, so he kept the plan quiet until the day arrived. Gifting outdoor photography as a Mother's Day present is something I love being part of, especially when someone puts this much thought into celebrating a mother in their life.
A Local Dog Rescue Photographer
This is my third time doing a family and dog session for Nicole, and the story behind it starts with her dog Charlie. Charlie is a rescue from Southern Connection, the same rescue where I worked as a dog photographer.
My work there was taking dog photos to help their dogs get adopted, and that is how Nicole and I met. Nicole ended up adopting Charlie.
Relaxed Beach Family Portraits
Nicole was surprised and thrilled when she was gifted a photoshoot for Mother's Day.
She wanted a fun, relaxed outdoor photography session, and she chose the beach for it, bringing her husband, her child, and Charlie along for the morning.
The family photos turned out exactly how she pictured them, and Charlie's pet portraits captured his personality on the sand.
Why Van Wagners Beach
We met at Van Wagners Beach in Hamilton, Ontario, early in the morning for Nicole's family and pet photoshoot. I love shooting beach sessions at that hour because the beach is completely empty.
The family had the whole shoreline to themselves for their family and pet portraits.
Dog Photos On Leash
Charlie stayed on a leash for the entire session, the same safety step I use for every dog photography session. Once I started editing the images, the leash was removed in Photoshop.
The final dog photos show Charlie sitting in the sand, both on his own and with his family.
