Norfolk County Dog Photographer Captures a Golden Hour Corgi Session

Golden Hour Dog Photos

Rebecca's first session with me was at my All Who Wander Flower Farm limited session, back when it was just her and Winnie. This time was different, since Winnie now has a big sister role to fill after Wren joined the family, and this was the first dog photography session with both girls together.

We shot during golden hour, the time of day I call the magic hour, since the light is the most flattering on any subject in front of my camera.

As an outdoor dog photographer, that flattering light is exactly why I build sessions around this hour instead of the middle of the day.

Winnie has done this before, and it shows in how easily she settles into a pose and holds it. Wren is newer to it, but treat-motivated enough that she picked up the pace quickly.

I photographed Winnie and Wren individually first, then brought Rebecca into the frame with both girls, since I always shoot dogs on their own and pets with their owner together to build variety into the gallery.

Rebecca's shots with the girls are part of what makes this a dog and family photoshoot, alongside the professional dog photos of Winnie and Wren on their own.

Family Photos With Dogs

We shot the whole session in one of my new favourite garden settings, tucked away in Norfolk County. We had after-hours access that evening, so it was just us, the light, and a series of quiet little nooks to work through.

Every time we found a nook with backlighting that felt right, I posed Winnie and Wren there, individually, together, and with Rebecca. Some of those were posed dog photography shots with Rebecca and the girls together.

Others were candid dog photography, Rebecca and the girls together but not directed. That mix of posed and candid is what gives a natural light pet photography gallery its range.

Dog Mom Photoshoot

Rebecca booked this session through my National Dog Mom promotion, and she ended up purchasing more images than she originally planned. When her gallery went live, her exact words were, I am obsessed, because she loved the photos that much.

She is a wedding photographer herself, and it shows every time we shoot together, since she knows exactly what I am setting up before I even finish setting it up.

A dog mom photoshoot like this one is exactly what the promotion was built for. For anyone looking for a dog mom gift for themselves or a friend, this is the kind of result it leads to.
