Norfolk County Dog Photoshoot
Golden hour at the Dunnville beach in Norfolk County is perfect for a dog photoshoot. The warm sky, soft light, and wide space create a setting that feels effortless and natural.Â
This session took place at a quiet beach in Dunnville. It's one of my favourite spots as a Norfolk County dog photographer because the light hits beautifully at the end of the day.
Chino and Richie, two American Bullies, arrived ready to explore, and their personalities showed right away.

Dunnville Beach Dog Photoshoot
This location works really well for dog portraits — beautiful light, plenty of room, greenery, and hidden areas that work well for different poses and angles.
Because the beach is usually quiet, there are barely any distractions for dogs, which makes the session flow naturally.
The golden-hour glow at this beach brings out warm tones and adds depth to every photo.

American Bully Photos
Chino and Richie were total stars. They were curious, playful, and eager to participate. Their personalities came through easily, which is exactly what I love capturing during a dog photoshoot session.
American Bullies often look tough, but sessions like this show their softer side.

Dog Photoshoot On Leash
Most dogs stay on leash during their pet session — including Chino and Richie.Â
For safety, keeping dogs leashed is the best approach. The leash is removed in editing, so the final images look clean and natural.
This is something people search for all the time:
"Can my dog stay on leash for photos?"
Yes — absolutely.
This session is a great example of a safe and successful dog photo on leash experience.
Keeping Dogs Focused
Dogs don't pose on command, and that's normal. To keep them engaged, I use toys, sound makers, and take breaks when they need them.Â
Allowing dogs to reset keeps the session flowing and makes their dog portraits look natural, not forced.
This is how I work in every dog photoshoot, especially with high-energy breeds or puppies.

Golden Hour Dog Photos
Golden hour gives this Dunnville beach a warm, glowing look that works beautifully for a dog photoshoot.
The light softens shadows and brings out rich colours in both the landscape and the dogs themselves. It's one of the main reasons this beach is a favourite for sessions.
